Board of Directors - Chairperson: Datu Dr Hatta Bin Solhi

YBhg Datu Dr Haji Hatta Bin Solhi, PhD (University of Hawaii), MA (University of Reading), BA (Carleton University), has held several senior positions in the State Government and Federal Services from 1971 to 2001. including 4 years as Deputy State Secretary.


Since his retirement from public life in 2001, YBhg Datu Hatta has served on the Boards of several private corporations including MAS.


YBhg Datu Hatta is currently the Chairman of the Board of Directors of two leading institutions of tertiary education in Sarawak, namely UNIMAS and Curtin University Sarawak. He has accepted the role of Chairman of the Board of Directors of the joint venture company, namely BIS (Sarawak) Management Sdn Bhd, which owns and will operate Bintulu International School.




Board of Governors – Chairperson: Mrs Margaret Kaloo

Mrs. Margaret Kaloo, MA (University of Aberdeen), Dip TEFL (University of London), MEd (University of Wales) is the founder and currently Chief Executive of the elc group of schools.


Her long career in education started with 3 years teaching in the Sultan Ismail College in Kota Bahru, Kelatan, shorter periods in private schools in Hong Kong and Barcelona and 12 years as a lecturer in Universiti Kebangsaan before establishing the first elc school in 1987.


She was nominated Woman Entrepreneur of the Year in 2002 and was the Chairman of the Association of International Schools in Malaysia (AIMS) from 2000 to 2007.




Principal - Ms Asha Kaloo

Nurturing a start-up to growth and success is one of the most difficult jobs any school Principal can be faced with as the challenge is in the details. Everything matters.


Ms. Asha Kaloo is uniquely qualified for this role. Starting with a SCOTVEC HNC in Hotel Management and progressed to a BSc in Consumer Product Management from The Robert Gordon University. She then spent 2 years as a Trainee Manager with Holiday Inn Swiss Cottage, London followed by another year as Research Analyst with an international management consultancy based in Kuala Lumpur before joining elc in 1994.


During her time with elc Asha has fulfilled many roles ranging from teaching, admissions, administration, finance and operations, often combining multiple roles at the same time. She has also headed the Primary Division at the SB Campus from 2000 to 2003, was the Head of School at the Kulim, Kedah Campus in 2009 before being transferred to the new elc Campus at Cyberjaya as Head of School from 2010 to 2012.


With 23 years of experience in the field of education, Asha's current portfolio with elc International School is as Director of Operations and Director of Finance.
